Music and Brunch

Hello Sarkozy Folks,

Music and good food and nice people. That's what I crave on a Sunday morning. Add the New York Times and I don't think it gets any better. Check out the line up below.

In the mean time, lean over the sink while you devour produce - peaches, plums, tomatoes, watermelon cantaloupe - slurp up the juice as you bite down so you lose as little as possible.

And let’s not slight the late summer vegetables!. To me they are so beautiful especially the peppers. Of courslet’s not leave out eggplants or onions or beets or the squash family or, or….and did I say Corn? Especially since we learned to roast vegetables, and they all play well together, they make for for easy meals. Just add a lot of garlic.

At this time of the year I love looking at and adoring the produce on my counter. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could have local fresh vegetables all year long? But no, shipped-in produce is never as good so we have to really appreciate them while we have them.

Ok, so here is a rumor I heard. In keeping with our efforts to have some brunch dishes on Sundays, Alec is working on a mini tomato galette. Think layers of pastry, tomato jam, herbs, feta cheese, tomatoes - you get the idea. Then, put an egg. on top of that! According to Alec, THEY'RE REALLY TASTY!!!

That's the galette on the right. We will also have the Goat-cheese-pesto-flakey-dough-nest for an egg. Waddaya think? I think “See you on Sunday for brunch”!

Another reason to be here on Sunday September 10th is that the

Living Room Musicians

will be performing. The group consists of Jennifer Miller playing recorders and such like that, Ginny Parnaby on hammered dulcimer with Steve and Mo Schoenfeld on a variety of percussion instruments. They bring an easy and relaxed mix of music for your Sunday morn.

See you soon,

Judy
