Exciting News

Hello Sarkozyites,

In this sad and dreadful time of violence and hate at least there is some good news for our small bakery community. I am very excited to announce that Alec Wells is now co-owner of Sarkozy Bakery. I’ll send pictures soon. Alec has worked at the bakery since August of 2019 and has been instrumental in improving our product, enacting innovative personnel policies, and enlarging our scope. Without his input, it would have been extremely difficult to make it through the pandemic and recover as well as we have. He has earned the respect and admiration of both employees and customers. We value his positive and energetic attitude as well as his thoughtful problem-solving ability. Not only that it’s fun to have him here!

I have been able to reduce my hours and efforts as he is a quick study and has a keen understanding of the role of the bakery in the community and of the community in the bakery. Having him join the business has greatly improved the environment for employees, for me, and greatly contributes to the sustainability of Sarkozy Bakery. It only took 44 years for me to find him and him to find the bakery!

Sarkozy Suppers: again this week, and every other week. As you may know, we have Sunday Night Suppers every other week at the bakery. Chef Steven Manning puts together a menu of things he finds at the market, at local food sources, and from the bakery. He is interested in spice mixes from all over the world and his culinary touch is both nuanced and exciting. We are not set up as a restaurant with standard restaurant equipment which can be a challenge so we keep the number of guests low. We keep food costs and food waste down by offering a fixed menu and solid reservations so that we know how much food to purchase. Please try to avoid canceling, and please let us know immediately if you must cancel.

Here is the Menu:
