“The crew of the Enterprise is ready for some well deserved rest and relaxation”

Every year we take a much needed break between Christmas Day and New Years. But why is that?


Well, there's no such thing as un-skilled labor, but that's particularly true at the bakery. Training bakers takes a lot of time, energy, and resources. So we can't just hire a bunch of additional bodies for the holiday. Nor are we in the business of part time employment, we want to provide viable careers in baking.
SO THAT means all the bakers here have to step up, dig deep, work more efficiently, and here and there, pull some longer days. Which is exhausting! And means we don't get much time to do fun holiday things with friends or family.

So when I say we take a much deserved break between Christmas and New Years, that's why! We need to rest, relax, recuperate, and finally see our friends and families. And we chose to open on 1/3rd because opening the bakery back up is a 2 day process and we don't want anyone working on New Year's Day.
