Way Cool Brunch
Missing your favorite big city? Looking for a change for Sunday breakfast? Want a nice surprise? Wishing you could find a place with live music? Ok, I'll stop being cutesy.
On Sundays, Sarkozy Bakery has live music and tasty brunch specials, as well as all of our regular pastries, breads, cookies, and even our full lunch menu of soups, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. We are open from 7:30 AM to 3 PM. The musicians play from 11 AM to 1 PM. It’s so cool, so cosmopolitan, so downtown!
Here are some of the brunch special we have had in the past. Behold !
From top to bottom on the left:Bourbon/caramel peach baked French Toast, Pretzel bun breakfast sandwich, Pretzel bun bacon egg and pesto with sandwich, Pastrami Ruben. Top to bottom on the right: Blueberry Shortbread, Biscuits and gravy, Croissant ham, egg and cheese sandwich, Everything Croissant with pesto and a egg on top.
This Sunday’s special is Breakfast Pizza! No, I'm not talking about Hangover Pizza where you stand in front of the fridge in your whatevers willing to eat almost anything including that slab of last night’s pizza that has been drying out in your refrigerator all night. No, I’m talking about a pizza fresh from the oven with cheese and onions and bacon topped with an egg.
This Sunday, the 18th, we have a musical treat brought to us by a group called “The Quartet”. I'm pretty sure they spend time on their music and not on their name, The Quartet is inspired by Alex Roberts who also happens to be the lead cellist in the Kalamazoo Symphony. It appears that the other instruments are electric guitars of various ranges, some percussion, and a keyboard or not. They improvise on current popular songs and from what I have heard we might be treated to a silk-roadish, jazz inflected, classically underpinned, pop influenced, improvised performance. To find out what I am trying to say, you’re going to have to be here!!
You know how to get to the bakery with all this construction, right?
Love,
Judy
